Changes to help domestic abuse victims access legal aid come into force

From 1 March 2023 domestic abuse victims may find it easier to access legal aid.


From that date health professionals have been permitted to examine domestic abuse victims over the telephone or by video conference as an alternative to examination in person for the purposes of providing a report or letter as supporting evidence of domestic abuse.
