The Probation Service's efforts to curb domestic abuse and safeguard victims have been examined in a recent report by HM Inspectorate of Probation. The last time this aspect of probation practice was reviewed was in 2018. Justin Russell, Chief Inspector of Probation, expressed serious concern, stating: “Despite some positive changes in policy, there appears to be little improvement in practice, and in some areas, conditions have worsened.
